DO'S And DONT'S While Making Jollof Rice(Party Jollof).
Different Recipes Are Unique To The Owners, But I Think There Is A Common Rule.
Jollof Rice Is Simple, Yet Difficult To Achieve That Party Taste(Smokey Smokey).
I Have 10 Rules I Follow;
1). Study Your Rice So As To Know The Level Of Water Added To Avoid It Being Soggy At The End.
2). Do Not Cook Your Jollof Rice In A Non Stick Pan, You Need Either Stainless Or Aluminium Cookware.
3). Your Jollof Rice MUST BURN(Infact It Is Part Of The Recipe, Hence The Kind Of Pot To Use).
4). Leave Your Jollof To Cook In It's Steam, Stop Turning It Like Amala. 😀
5). The Timing For Adding Different Ingredients Are Very Important.
6). Nutmeg Is One Spice People Neglect, It Is Very Nice In Jollof Rice.
7). Bay Leave/White Pepper/Butter; Some Of The Essential Ingredients In Your Jollof Rice.
8). Your Water Level And Rice Level Must Not Be Far Apart, I Will Advice Use Of Equal Quantity.
9). Your Jollof Base And Tomato Purée Will Determine The Redness Of Your Jollof Rice.
10). Steam Cooks Jollof Rice, Not Water Or Heat, Cook Your Rice On Low-Medium Heat To Achieve A Perfect Result.
